While attending Pennsylvania State University from 1967-1970 Alex Cifelli worked as a laborer for a commercial roofing contractor. After graduating he began his sales career at Celotex Corporation in Eastern Pennsylvania. In 1976 Alex moved to the commercial roofing distribution side of the business, where he assisted in starting up the GAF Distribution centers.

In 1984 Alex had the opportunity to join Clair Polites’s representative firm C.J Polites. Clair quickly became a mentor for Alex, teaching him about owning a business and operating a manufacturers’ representative firm. When Clair retired, Alex went into business himself and started Alex F. Cifelli Jr & Associates Inc. In 2013 the company rebranded as Exterior Building Solutions (EBS) to better market roofing and wall product lines. Alex is proud the representative firm is second generation and that Exterior Business Solutions still represents lines dating back to 80s and 90s.
